Job Title: Cable Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Cable Assembly Technician will support all wire harness and cable assembly for the Assembly/Production department. You will work on a small manufacturing team (total of 5-10) and will aid in the assembly process of the product's wire harnesses from start to finish. The Technician will work on high current DC harnesses with large gauge wires. An ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for mechanical projects and problem-solving, with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support all wire harness and cable assembly tasks for the Assembly/Production department.

• Work on high current DC harnesses with large gauge wires.

• Assist in the assembly process of wire harnesses from start to finish.

• Use schematic diagrams to guide assembly tasks.

• Cut, crimp, and label wires accurately.

• Utilize mechanical and electrical assembly tools including torque wrenches, crimpers, cutting tools, and basic hand tools.

• Ensure all assemblies meet quality standards and specifications.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of recent experience assembling complex, large DC wire harnesses.

• Ability to cut, crimp, and label wires.

• Proficiency with mechanical and/or electrical assembly tools including torque wrenches, crimpers, and cutting tools.

• Ability to read and follow schematic diagrams or data sheets.

• Familiarity with electrical components and wiring.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with high-current, high-voltage, or high-amperage wiring systems.

• Proficiency using ERP Systems and Life Cycle Management software.

• Hobbies involving mechanical projects or working on cars.

• Experience in an industrial assembly/manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work standing, kneeling, and on your back as you work on vehicles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

• Ability to lift 75+ lbs.

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00
