Robert Half Backend Developer in Austin, Texas

Description

As a fulltime Backend Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver scalable and efficient backend systems. You will be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, databases, and infrastructure that support our web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend systems and APIs.

  • Design and implement data storage solutions, including relational and NoSQL databases.

  • Optimize backend performance and ensure high availability and low latency.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code while following best practices and coding standards.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues and performance bottlenecks.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and trends, and contribute to continuous improvements in development processes.

  • Collaborate with DevOps to deploy and maintain backend systems in cloud or on-premises environments.

  • Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of backend systems.

  • Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior developers.

    Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Backend Developer or similar role.

  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby, Go, PHP).

  • Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Express.js).

  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), including database design and optimization.

  • Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices, including version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
