AUDIO VISUALTECHNICIAN II - Operator/Engineer
SESSION ONLY POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate and maintainbroadcast equipment for local and remote use
Provide tech supportfor all software and hardware related computer and hardware issues that couldarise in the production or broadcast of Senate business or an event.
Shoot, switch, playbackand record video, operate CG, and transcribe broadcasts
Monitor quality andaccuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming
Set up, test and strikeportable AV equipment for events, broadcasts and recordings
Operate camera,teleprompter, audio and lighting for portable productions
Offer technical adviceand instruction on equipment, software and system use to colleagues, staff andclients
Communicateor troubleshoot technical issues affecting broadcast quality
Modify, procure,install, test and operate system components
Maintain and repaircomputers, specialized software
Inventory A/V equipment,tools, machinery and supplies
Coordinate medialogistics and AV support for remote Senate business and events
Make cables and providesupport for capitol cable television service
Communicate withmembers, staff and clients in-person, by phone and email
Travel occasionally forremote broadcasts and recordings in Texas
Work requires contactwith public officials
Work includes evenings,weekends and holidays, often on short notice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the innerworkings of a broadcast facility is helpful
Attention to detail,excellent organization and communication skills Ability to handle fast-paced situations with concurrent, multiple and shiftingpriorities
Operate, diagnose andresolve broadcast, production and computer-related issues with minimumsupervision
Ability to readas-built diagrams
Communicatetechnical issues with tact and diplomacy
Demonstrated commitmentto a collaborative work environment
Physical Ability tolift up to 50 lbs.
Valid Texas Class"C" Drivers License
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
Associates degree or higher in Communications,Media, TV, Electronics, or Computer Science preferred. Equivalent experience inTV production, media technology, broadcasting or other related fields may besubstituted.
EXPERIENCE:
Electronic equipment operation and diagnostics
Prior experience with fiber, patch bays,video routers and broadcast systems is preferred, Ross Open Gear frames, Ultrix and Dashboard is a plus
Prior experience with web-based videoconferencing is preferred, Zoom, WebEx,Microsoft Teams is a plus
Video production and postproductionexperience is required, Chyron GraphicsSystems, FinalCut Pro7, Avid and/orAdobe Creative Suite editing software is a plus
