Robert Half Assistant Controller in Austin, Texas
Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Austin, Texas. The job function lies within the finance industry, specifically focusing on cost accounting. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively process and close manufacturing jobs in the ERP system on a daily basis
• In charge of managing plant level costs and control, including cost accounting, bill of material audits, and cost analysis
• Work in close partnership with manufacturing departments to understand issues and their financial impact, and provide education on cost drivers and variances
• Manage inventory, manufacturing, and production planning modules in ERP system
• Collaborate with the Product Director on costing analysis for new products and implement changes to product lines in the system as necessary
• Perform analysis of manufacturing - including budgets, forecasts, Long Range Plans (LRP), and actual labor, material, and overhead cost against Standard/Budget
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for manufacturing, ensuring they reflect the latest manufacturing practices and suggesting improvements where necessary
• Develop new labor and overhead rates, budget, bonus rates (points), and forecasts
• Provide ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support plant operations
• Assist in the analysis of product movement and trends, and assist with the development of buying forecasts
• Perform inventory related cost analysis and auditing, ensuring accuracy and understanding of cost structures. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must.
• Familiarity with Concur is expected.
• Ability to handle all Accounting Functions effectively.
• Proven experience in Auditing.
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting is required.
• Expertise in Standard Cost Accounting is necessary.
• Proficiency in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A) is expected.
• Experience in Inventory Accounting is a plus.
• Ability to perform Inventory Analysis effectively.
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is necessary.
