Role Value Proposition:
The Financial Consultant (FC) has overall accountability for the day-to-day financial support of multiple National Accounts clients. The FC is part of an overall account team tasked with understanding the customers’ needs and wants and focused on delivering group benefit products that meet those needs, along with delivering a service experience that exceeds expectations and makes it easy for customers to do business with MetLife.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall accountability for the financial support of multiple complex National Accounts clients:
Responsible for the development of customer financial reports, including data and trend analysis and effectively communicates results to client
Manages the timely delivery of client reports by prioritizing and understanding client needs
Prepares year-end financial accounting and 5500 reporting for clients
Completes monthly revenue projections and validates data integrity
Responsible for monitoring the key financial parameters of internal management reporting
Accountable for the completion of monthly bank reconciliation reports and monitors client activity
Responsible for client billing, reconciliation, and partnering with internal and external contacts to ensure billing is entered accurately and timely
Partners with Account Executive and Client Services Team in meeting and exceeding the clients’ expectations
Participates in client meetings, in person or via conference call, and prepares materials as needed
Participates in client account audits and strategic planning process
Responsible for reviewing and documenting current financial processes and providing information for internal audits as needed
Serves as a key resource to Customer Unit
Provides financial support to Request For Proposal process and implementation of new clients, as well as the addition of new products to existing clients
Prepares historical information for Financial Consulting Services to assist them with the renewal and underwriting
Maintains an awareness and knowledge of MetLife’s and competitors’ products and industry trends
Firm knowledge of group products, services and systems and ability to apply analytical skills to the interaction of these products, services and systems
Participates in cross-functional project teams designed to support key National Accounts initiatives or to enhance operational effectiveness
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Typically has a BS/BA degree and 3-5 years of experience
Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Accounting/math problem solving skills, including attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness
Ability to work autonomously or with others and effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible
Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities
General understanding of U.S. economy and employee benefits industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development
