Our Mission: Arapahoe County Department of Human Services (ACDHS) builds strong communities by promoting the safety, independence and stability of individuals and families. Our Vision:To end the cycle of poverty and prevent abuse and neglect of children and vulnerable adults (using an integrated two-generation approach) ACDHS uses an integrated two-generation (2Gen) approach to address all of the basic human services needs of the entire family unit. The 2Gen approach begins with a mindset focused on family-centered program design, continues with the alignment of services and resources within the department as well as across multiple organizations, resulting in coordinated services to children and adults together (family) in order to create long term stability and sustainability. The 2Gen approach builds well-being for families by focusing equally and intentionally on high-quality services in five areas of focus: early childhood education, adult education and employment pathways, economic security, health and well-being and social capital. This approach will help us achieve our core mission of breaking the generational cycle of poverty, preventing neglect and abuse and building strong communities. The Family Resource Navigator will work directly with families involved with Child Protection Services, Community Support Services, and Child Support Services as needed, to enhance the family's ability to connect to proper services and develop support systems. They will provide individualized case management and stabilization services to a caseload of clients, including adults and children with multiple barriers and those that may be experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Duties Duties

Evaluates the needs and gaps of individuals, children, and parents. Make referrals to department services and community- based organizations based of needs assessment. Develops case plans to address deficiencies, specific to the needs of each family member. Assist family members with the coordination and completion of paperwork, to enter services, while facilitating communication with these various systems Maintain regular contact with the family's in assigned caseload and document all contact. Develops a high level of expertise and access to relevant and existing resources both internally and externally. Work with other professionals who are also providing services, and coordinate services for maximum effectiveness. Provide crisis intervention as needed and assist other staff with critical families. REQUIREMENTS: Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

Knowledge of family engagement strategies, principles of interviewing, assessment, and facilitation skills that are strength-based and solution focuse Ability to work with and evaluate complex family dynamics, formulate case plans with family input, and make decisions regarding case services, crisis response, and prevention efforts. Demonstrate awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in dealing with culturally and socioeconomic diverse client population. Respects and respond appropriately to the culture, language, values, and family structures of each family served. Deeply understands and practices with a trauma informed lens. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working directly with individuals and/or families with multiple barriers requiring navigation and case management, identifying needs and linking families to appropriate services such as: behavioral health services, legal services, housing, counseling, social services, childcare, respite resources, prevention efforts, crisis coordination and respo Knowledge of available internal/external resources to support children and parents. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and state and county computer systems. Requirements Education and Experience:

Bachelors' degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Child Development, Criminal Justice or Human Services related field 2+ years' experience in family case management Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered. Supplemental Information Pre-Employment Additional Requirements:

Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes a motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own personal vehicle for visiting with families and meetings with community partners. Post-Employment Requirements:

Will require fingerprinting and a Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) background check. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work may involve considerable time away from a standard office environment. Travel will be necessary to meet with families and individuals to conduct assessments in-person, attend appointments with clients, as well as with community agencies.
