Key Responsibilities:

Educational Technology Training Development (40%)

  • Independently develop and implement instructional technology trainings for faculty, staff, and students on the Anschutz Medical campus.

  • Specific emphasis will be given over the first 12 months of this position towards supporting the campus' digital accessibility efforts. Training needs to be developed so that it is available in multiple modalities including in-person, asynchronous, and remote. Campus supported instructional technology includes (but not limited to):

  • Canvas

  • Panopto

  • Polleverywhere

  • Respondus

  • Zoom

  • Digital Accessibility Tools (Anthology Ally, SensusAccess)

Educational Technology Support (30%)

  • Deliver technical training and support to students, faculty and staff on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Delivery of training will occur in multiple modalities including in-person, remote, and asynchronously.

Instructional Design Support (30%)

  • Assist faculty in designing, developing, and assessing learning materials and course content for health care education focused curriculums while promoting an inclusive and accessible learning environment.

  • This position will also work with the Director of the Office of Digital Learning and subject matter experts to identify additional training needs and provide programmatic evaluations to determine areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, communications, information technology, information science or a closely related field.

  • 5 years of experience in instructional technology and/or instructional design.

  • Experience working with course management systems, specifically Canvas.

  • Experience with various instructional technologies and pedagogies, such as audio and video recordings, authoring software, teleconferencing, or a closely related substitute.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, communications, information technology, information science or a closely related field.

  • Experience supporting faculty and students in a higher education or academic health care setting.

  • Experience with client relationship management and media-development software applications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Administrative knowledge of course management systems, specifically Canvas.

  • Have basic knowledge of HTML coding to design activities in learning management system

  • Energetic interest in learning new skills and technologies.

  • Passion for helping others learn.

  • Productive and quality-improvement oriented worker capable of independent decision-making, and complex problem solving.

  • Highly motivated and a professional self-starter, able to successfully manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, administrators, and technical support teams effectively. This includes listening to stakeholders' needs, explaining complex technical concepts in accessible language, and advocating for the use of educational technology.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively with a team and across the organization to achieve desired results.

  • Strong work ethic and positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for and experience in team building and skills in a collaborative working environment.

  • Skills to organize and complete complex projects and to work under tight deadlines.

  • Possesses outstanding interpersonal relationship skills, along with an understanding of the inherent need to establish and maintain effective and collegial relationships with staff, faculty, students and with departmental representatives within the campus and university.

  • Understanding of educational theories and practices, including instructional design principles, learning theories (such as constructivism and connectivism), and assessment strategies. Demonstrable experience designing and implementing instructional technology trainings for faculty and staff

  • Proficiency in evaluating, selecting, and implementing a wide range of educational technologies, learning management systems (LMS), multimedia creations tools, virtual learning environments, and educational applications

  • Expertise in technical areas such as multimedia production (audio, video, graphics), web development, programming (depending on the context), and troubleshooting technical issues related to educational technology.

  • Ability to provide training and support to educators and students in using educational technologies effectively. This may involve creating tutorials, conducting workshops, providing one-on-one assistance, and developing support materials.

  • Capacity to conduct research on the effectiveness of educational technology interventions and to use data-driven insights to improve instructional practices. This includes evaluating the impact of technology on learning outcomes and making data-driven recommendations.
