Job Overview

The Cardiac Sonographer Advanced has obtained a high level and expertise in the proficiency, competency, and knowledge in the field of pediatric echocardiography; provides mentoring, instruction and orientation of employees, physicians, fellows, students, and preceptors; possesses advanced cardiac ultrasound theory and techniques; experienced in the field of cardiology, comprehension of anatomy and physiology, with specific experience in pediatric cardiac ultrasound.The Advanced Sonographer performs clinical echocardiographic studies for congenital heart disease on patients ranging from neonatal to adult; assists the laboratory with complex cardiovascular malformations and technically advanced cases.The Advanced Sonographer oversees the coordination and administration of the Echo Lab including program development, clinical expertise and serves as a quality leade

Department Name: Noninvasive Cardiology Job Status: Full-Time; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED, specialized course work (or equivalent) in a 2-year college program with emphasis on imaging modalities or other associated medical program in cardiac ultrasound. Experience:Seven plus years of experience in the use of Motion-Mode (M-Mode), 2D, Pulse Wave (PW), Continuous Wave (CW), and color flow Doppler techniques.Experience specifically in pediatric echo, teaching and training, and involvement with quality assurance projects. Certification(s): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credentialing with Pediatric Echocardiography Registry (PE) through ARDMS credentialing required OR Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) credentialing required BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire
