Job Description

We are looking for a Low Voltage Technician to perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of low voltage equipment and associated hardware within our facilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the operational integrity of our physical security systems, data cabling infrastructure, and communication networks . This position will be full-time and onsite.

Work Schedule: (Monday - Friday) 7am - 3:30pm

What You’ll Do

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of low voltage equipment and related hardware

  • Install, maintain, and repair card access and physical security systems at tolling sites and office facilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of UPS, SCADA, and other control/monitoring devices

  • Install, maintain, and monitor CCTV cameras and Network Video Recorders (NVRs)

  • Troubleshoot voice and data cabling systems to identify faults and perform necessary corrective maintenance

  • Install, terminate, label, and identify Cat3, Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 voice/data twisted pair cabling systems

  • Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and upgrades of power and data cable infrastructure

  • Construct pathways and infrastructure for cable systems, including cable trays, ladder racks, conduit, and direct line burials

  • Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on equipment, including disassembling electronic components and testing wiring

  • Utilize software tools for equipment diagnosis and remote troubleshooting

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, power meters, diagnostic equipment, ladders, and other test equipment

  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, such as installation checklists, service orders, and inspection logs

  • Coordinate and provide professional service to multiple departments

  • Engage in continuous learning to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and practices

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, diagrams, and manuals

  • Knowledge of establishing test procedures and following instructions

  • Proficient with volt/amp meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, network analyzers, and hand tools

  • Understanding of computer network principles and computer repair techniques

  • Familiarity with fiber optic systems and CCTV systems

  • Experience using Maintenance Management Systems

  • Skilled in oral and written communication

  • Comfortable working at heights up to thirty (30) feet and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class E Driver's License

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in cabling systems

  • Willingness to travel overnight and be available for on-call duties after normal working hours

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
