THE POSITION

Sr. Staff Software Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI: Provide root-cause analysis and corrective action plans for software clusters with issues using debugging tools. Responsible for requirement analysis collected by Functions and Systems Engineering teams with the project feature owners by collaborating with feature owners to review the analysis report and create the development tickets for software development.  Responsible for coordinating with different stakeholders for the feature development to configure the software modules and optimize software runtime. Ensure software modules are running within the designed budget at all times. Design the test procedure and the code logic to ensure that the design specification is fulfilled and perform development testing. Update unit test cases for the newly introduced software code change using change management tools. Prepare the software detailed design specifications to meet the functional and non-functional requirements.

 

Telecommuting permitted up to 60% per week.

 

Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related work experience.

 

Of the required experience, must have experience in all of the following:

 

  • 5 years of experience developing software;
  • 5 years of experience using software development process, tools, methods (including PTC Integrity, IBM Jazz, DOORS, Git or GitHub) and industrialization;
  • 3 years of experience using AUTOSAR Architecture to develop safety-critical and secure software systems, with features including memory protection and error handling;
  • 2 years of experience defining a software system's architecture, ensuring it meets safety, reliability, and performance criteria, overseeing integration and forecasting memory consumption based on change requests or requirements;
  • 2 years of experience using Microcontroller Resource Management (MRM) to implement resource monitoring mechanisms to track the utilization of CPU cycles, memory, and peripherals and to set up debugging tools and techniques for identifying resource-related issues during development and testing;
  • 2 years of experience using an agile product development methodology (including Scrum or Kanban) to create architectures responsive to changing requirements, adaptable to new technologies, and in alignment with user needs; and
  • 1 year of experience using a structured problem-solving methodology (including 8D problem solving methodology) to address software-related issues in software architecture.
