Job purpose

This role will conduct audits utilizing BorgWarner’s risk and control matrix, audit programs, and audit management system. The focus of the work is in the Americas region, primarily the U.S. and Mexico. Work in conjunction with the Americas Internal Audit Manager (Data Analytics) that will include executing the Audit Plan for Centralized Audits (primary), Operational Audits, and Plant Audits. This will also include supporting the Data Analytics Audit Execution Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Support execution of audits in North America including managing relationships with internal staff and outside accountants

• Support execution of Data Analytics Objectives

• Perform global audit finding remediation testing as needed

• Support reporting of internal audit findings and metrics

• Assist in on-going administration of the audit management system

• Support development of the risk assessment and audit plan

• Support establishing and monitoring of the global department budget and financial forecast

• Maintain changes to the Reporting Unit, Business Unit and Functional Area (e.g., Corporate Reporting, Treasury, etc.) audit programs and risk & control frameworks

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

• 4+ years overall finance/accounting/audit experience

• Background and knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls over financial reporting and financial planning and analysis

• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management

• Ability to speak and write in English at a highly skilled level

• Ability to travel up to 30%, primarily in the Americas. The focus of travel will be in the U.S and Mexico with potential occasional trips to Asia or Europe

• Strong desktop application software skills, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
