Jabil is seeking an Electronics Technician - Automated Test Expert to work in the Auburn Hills, MI location. This position is 1st shift, however you will be expected to work some overtime on an as-needed basis.
How will you make an impact? As the Electronics Technician with Automated Test experience, you will be the primary resource for automated test systems and fixture inspection and will provide training and direction to lower-level technicians. In addition, you will inspect production fixtures to ensure compliance with Jabil’s specifications, verify vendor inspection reports, document violations, and provide findings for test engineer qualification.
What will you do?
Acts as the primary resource for hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upkeep of automated test systems such as ICT and X-ray inspection machines.
Inspects production fixtures including new, used, changed, or enhanced fixtures.
Acts as a primary resource to solve complex problems related to fixturing and test systems.
Monitors equipment support contracts, calibration status, and on-site support specific to automated tests systems and fixturing.
Diagnosis and repairs of automated test systems, usually hardware-related.
Gathers interprets, and logs machine-related issues into the maintenance tracking system; ensures issues are addressed and closed.
Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet requirements.
Performs preventative maintenance and calibration of automated test systems, and coordinates downtime with the work-cell and Planning functions.
Verifies and keeps an inventory of spare parts, and supplies inventory levels of consigned parts to vendors on a regular basis.
Requests quotes from vendors for repair and maintenance of systems, spare parts, vendor charges, and expenditures; submits purchase requisitions; schedules and hosts on-site visits of system vendors and contractors, as needed.
Aids with the development of training materials for specific test platforms; trains Engineers, Technicians, and Operators, as needed.
Monitors and maintains the Test Engineering lab.
Works safely and follows Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
- High-School degree or equivalent required. Associates Degree or Technical Certificate strongly preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment or supporting Test Systems role.
Lead or Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems i.e. how computers interface with motor controllers, sensors, and other devices, as well as experience with Microsoft Office and other operating systems.
Strong Prioritization skills
Knowledge of machine maintenance and schematics.
Ability to provide off-shift support by phone, computer, or in person.
