Summary This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, position description D0097000, within the 177TH MXS of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. This technician position serves as a Pneudraulic Svstem Mechanic within a fuel systems shop responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells, water injection, entidetonant (ADI), and inflight refueling systems. Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10, you will: Perform leak checks of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels Repair, reassemble, and install fuel system components Perform operational and functional checks to insure proper operation Participate in various types of readiness evaluations Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grade: Min: A1C/E-3 and Max: SSGT/E-5 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a military unit compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Area of consideration CAT 3, All New Jersey Air National Guard members Qualifications General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. Specialized Experience: Must at least 18 months of specialized experience which demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical principles.
