Platform Engineering

Platform engineering is the backbone for both the client lifecycle and the investment lifecycle. The group’s Follow the Sun Model ensures that the firm’s operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and regions, helping to deliver a superior client experience and drive scalability. Platform engineering is driven by a global network of Operating Centers of Excellence, which centralizes knowledge and equips support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal partners and clients.

Network Management is responsible for managing the global network and security infrastructure of the physical infrastructure along with cloud infrastructure. The team performs multiple operational tasks, projects and engineering aspects in routing, load balancing, monitoring and optimizing the network. The Network DevOps within the Network Management domain is responsible for the automation and enhancement of operational management across hybrid data centers, encompassing both cloud and on-premise environments. The team closely collaborates with the engineering team to convert manual process into orchestrated, automated solutions.

As a Manager of Network DevOps, you will:

  • Lead the Network DevOps function utilizing agile principles to deliver on automation and orchestration of on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

  • Be hands-on, improve operational efficiency, and develop a vision that leads to our DevOps team's long-term success.

  • Define, plan and execute strategic roadmaps for self-service, highly scalable, cost-efficient, observable, auditable, and reliable infrastructure services as standard practice, includes DevOps and automation.

  • Design, implement, and management of pipelines and continuously improve the evolution of CI/CD's release pipelines.

  • Lead team transformation from traditional infrastructure management to cloud/hybrid infrastructure management.

  • To enhance efficiency, close gaps in infrastructure monitoring, visibility, and configuration (via orchestration and processes) to achieve better business outcomes (during incident management and change management)

  • Collaborate with the network management and engineering teams to identify gaps in business processes and run books. Work towards continuous alignment between the teams and ensure that all relevant knowledge artifacts (policies, standard, and documents) remain up to date.

  • Assist with developing orchestration to streamline workflows and processes.

  • Perform root cause analysis of the incidents and implement process improvements

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of experience hands-on expertise within technology or financial sectors, specializing in on-premises and cloud infrastructure management, DevOps methodologies (incl IaC, docker, K8s, SaltStack), and automation practices, with a proven track record of leadership spanning more than five years in DevOps management.

  • Proficient in managing both private and public cloud environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, and VmWare NSX/PKS.

  • Thought leadership, evangelist, and change agent for all tools and platforms that support and influence the infrastructure supplier management of their services.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in release management tools and establishing robust CI/CD pipelines, preferably leveraging Azure DevOps.

  • Extensive experience in infrastructure provisioning and configuration using industry-standard tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet etc.

  • Skilled in developing Python scripts for automation tasks, particularly in network device configuration and integration with REST APIs.

  • Familiarity with SQL databases, including MySQL, facilitating efficient data management and manipulation.

  • Proficient in NoSQL databases like MongoDB, enabling agile and scalable data storage solutions.

  • Experience with telemetry approaches (metrics, distributed tracing, logging) and how to apply them effectively.

  • Leadership abilities with a strategic mind.

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Proficiency in Node.js for building efficient and scalable server-side applications, enhancing overall development and deployment capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of traditional and cloud networking principles and experience with key vendors such as Cisco, enhancing overall infrastructure management capabilities.
