Description
The VP, Inclusion & Diversity serves as a member of the Chief Human Resources Officer’s senior leadership team and will work collaboratively throughout the entire Emory system, fostering institutional change and transparent lines of communication between organizational branches.
The VP, Inclusion and Diversity will:
Oversee EHC’s evidence-based business rationale and strategy for Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) and implement a multi-year actionable roadmap and key accountability measures in alignment with, and pursuit of, organizational values, core purpose, and objectives.
In collaboration with the CHRO, plan, develop, and direct strategic and operational efforts to help Emory Healthcare more effectively recruit, develop, engage, and retain its diverse workforce to support an environment where all people feel included and welcomed.
Serve as an advisor, consultant, and thought leader with deep I&D expertise to senior level and site leadership in the organization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In partnership with HR COE leaders and HR VPs, use data to inspire action and drive outcomes, working to integrate and embed DEI practices and metrics across the entire employee life cycle.
Partner with VP of Health Equity to ensure comprehensive education programs are available for clinical team members to build capabilities to work effectively with patients of all backgrounds and lived experiences.
Facilitate dialogue, education, and how-to practices that result in a greater understanding of I&D impact on our mission and enable exceptional employee and patient experience.
Coordinate with system leadership to enhance, develop, and integrate I&D goals and strategies into business and annual operating plans.
In partnership with VP, Learning, Talent, and Culture lead the learning strategy for I&D topics and work closely to educate and enhance leaders and employees I&D competencies. Embed Inclusion and Diversity into all aspects of talent management.
In partnership with the office of Health Equity and their Community Outreach team, develop internships and other pathways programs to maximize access and exposure to career opportunities in healthcare for the most vulnerable in our communities. Increase brand exposure in the community.
Partner with DEI leaders across Emory University to align Inclusion and Diversity efforts, minimize duplication, and maximize impact.
Measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of Emory Healthcare I&D initiatives, reporting progress and identifying opportunities for new areas of focus. Benchmark externally.
Partner with finance to develop and implement EHC’s supplier Diversity program.
Partner with Internal Communications to design and deliver inclusive messaging throughout the organization and increase awareness of I&D efforts and impact.
Represent Emory Healthcare internally and externally to foster strategic partnerships.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have at least a master’s degree with 10+ years of diversity and inclusion leadership experience. An advanced degree is preferred. Candidates should also have significant management experience across team building, strategic planning, and project execution, ideally in a healthcare setting.
