Your New Role :

We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Technology M&A Specialist to support and mature our M&A practice. The ideal candidate will combine functional competencies, technical and operational acumen, and strategic mindset to drive successful IT integration and separations in mergers and acquisitions. This hands-on role will involve leading the planning and execution of IT integration / separation efforts, managing cross-functional teams without formal authority, fostering stakeholder buy-in, and driving the alignment of strategy & framework across multiple programs and projects.

As a client-facing position, the Technology M&A Specialist will be expected to engage with business stakeholders and external partners, provide actionable insights on technology integration, and ensure seamless execution of IT initiatives throughout the M&A lifecycle. The role requires a self-starter who can navigate complex and evolving environments while maintaining a focus on strategic outcomes.

This position is part of the Technology Business Solutions (TBS) team within Technology & Operations (T&O) Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy (EAS) organization, and will report directly to the Senior Director, Technology M&A Integration.

Your Role Accountabilities :

Integration / Separation Management (50%)

  • Oversee IT integration and separation efforts, including TSA (Transition Service Agreement) execution, ensuring smooth data, user, and system migration with minimal disruption to operations.

  • Ensure alignment of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements throughout the integration process, acting as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and vendors.

  • Support business case updates, addressing changes in scope, schedule, resources, and financials.

Risk Management (25%)

  • Proactively identify potential risks related to IT systems, infrastructure, and security during the M&A process.

  • Develop risk mitigation plans and address any technical or operational issues that arise during integration.

Strategy & Analytics (25%)

  • Conduct complex financial analysis to evaluate operational scenarios and risk trade-offs, providing strategic insights.

  • Analyze architectural diagrams to identify interdependencies and operational considerations for effective planning.

  • Support stakeholders in developing technology investment business cases and driving continuous improvement in IT operations post-merger.

  • Identify gaps and risks associated with tech enablement / technical debt and develop remediation and mitigation recommendations.

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent relevant work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Big 4 consulting and/or relevant industry experience.

  • 4+ years of post-merger technology integration experience, including joint ventures or carve-outs, with involvement in 10+ transactions.

  • 4+ years of experience in a Technology Integration Management Office (IMO) or Separation Management Office (SMO)

  • 4+ years of experience in Tech FP&A.

  • Experience in Technology assessment (identifying value creation opportunities and technical risks)

  • Process mapping tools, project management tools and visualization tools experience are a plus!
