Position Mission / Summary:

This position - Systems & Machinery New Business Development Manager - is a part of the team that is responsible for the sale of GPI’s world-class packaging innovation and machinery. This role is responsible for soliciting sales from potential and existing customers throughout the Americas. Primary responsibilities include providing machinery system solutions for new and existing products, manage the carton to machine interface in development of custom packaging systems for new and different pack formats, and source internal and external machinery to support new package innovation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Corporate R&D, Sales , Marketing, BD, PMD outside machinery suppliers globally to launch new products and machine processes.

  • Communicate and influence key stakeholders on technical solutions for system solutions

  • SME support for commercial teams across multiple divisions (Consumer, Beverage)

  • Support existing customers to enable innovation and productivity thru substrates and structures

  • Close interaction with internal and external equipment suppliers

  • Source and direct machinery OEM’s on design, project timing, machine checkouts, installation.

  • Oversee machine build of new and different cartoners and case packers. Monitors performance against set objectives. Takes timely corrective action to maintain project progress.

  • Creates relationships through extensive interaction with clients, sales, management and suppliers of equipment and materials.

  • Communicates and presents product findings and results to management and clients using scientific methods.

  • Recognizes emerging technologies and proposes new product and process development initiatives for internal and external project needs.

Background / Education Requirements

  • 3-5 years in a Machinery Sales/Service/Engineering role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automated Manufacturing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven track record in identifying and growing new business

Position Requirements:

  • Proven, passionate self-starter, requiring limited over-sight.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple, diverse projects on a continual basis.

  • Technical proficiency in packaging materials and package converting strategies.

  • PC proficient in Windows-based programs and the internet

  • Ability to work efficiently individually and in a team environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and cross-business environment.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with abstract variables.

  • Superior mechanical troubleshooting ability

  • Ability to conceptually design systems and sketch machine concepts from scratch.

  • The ability to deal with a variety of customers, both internal and external, in a highly professional and diplomatic manner

  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, and sell technical new and different alternatives to current state

  • Ability to travel approximately 33% of the time

Pay Range: $123,795.00 - $165,060.00
