Job Description

An Insight Global client is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their Systems team. They have a legacy system where their mainframe (zOS) processes data and creates files that are written to Linux folders. Then a SAS process, which is executed on a Linux server, massages the data from zOS and puts it into a sas7bdat format. The companys license with their server-based Linux SAS in expiring and they would like to move off it and onto a new system. We have another team member analyzing their current system, but we need a Solutions Architect to come in and work beside them to review their environment and decide if they need an off-the-shelf product or to create something proprietary. Their end goal is to get the same results as their current process, but to do so without SAS.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years in a Systems Solutions Architecture role

o Experience reviewing and deciding on whether to use current internal tools, create a proprietary system, or to buy a new off-the-shelf tool.

o Have seen the plan through, from conception to execution.

 Prior experience with transitions away from server-based Linux SAS

 Have worked with Mainframes

o They use z/OS but dont expect this person to be an expert in it (you will be partnered with a zOS expert). Just need to understand how mainframes play a role in this process. Experience with Python and solution creation from it.
