As a member of the SP Services Leadership Team, the Steam Power Services Lean Leader will be an active contributor to the lean maturity for SP Services and its leadership team. You will coach and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools across an operational or functional area. You will drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics. Deliverables include maturity of HK and Operating Reviews, impactful Kaizen, and growth of lean maturity through deployment of Leadership Development Plans. This role will require you to work globally across all levels of the organization and may require significant travel.

Essential Responsibilities

Success in this role looks like: Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating experience deploying lean principles and tools to impact business metrics and employee morale. Strong understanding of Hoshin Kanri, operating rhythms, kaizen and problem solving. You are someone who brings operational experience across multiple functions, a track record of improving operational performance and ability to manage multiple priorities. The Steam Power Services Lean Leader will:

  • Own the Services lean system design, implementation, and maturity.

  • Coach, facilitate, and drive maturity in the Hoshin Kanri and Operating Review process and execution.

  • Teach kaizen facilitation and problem solving; coach facilitators; and facilitate kaizen events.

  • Coach the Services leadership team on the organization and personal lean maturity journeys.

  • Deliver process improvements that improve customer outcomes, TTI/KPI, and leadership behaviors.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Lean or a related field.

  • Ten years’ experience leading lean / continuous improvement in an engineering, supply chain, or related business.

  • Significant experience building leadership behaviors and employee culture.

  • Track record of driving breakthrough levels of performance improvement.

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally as needed to support business operations and change initiatives.

Desired Characteristics

  • The ideal candidate is a change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.

  • Comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.

  • Practitioner and / or expert of Lean practices, with significant experience making transformational change by deploying lean principles and developing leadership behaviors.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits. This posting is expected to expire on December 2nd, 2024.
