The Senior Manager, Operations Strategy - Internal Consulting at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. presents a strategic opportunity to shape and lead initiatives that drive meaningful and sustainable improvements across our global manufacturing and supply chain operations. As a strategic influencer, you will guide co-manufacturing and operations initiatives, cost-out strategies, and supplier sourcing projects, demonstrating your consulting background to provide high-impact recommendations and solutions.

What You Will Do?

  • Lead comprehensive analyses in areas such as supply chain footprint mapping, dual sourcing, and product transfer strategies.

  • Drive make/buy decisions, asset optimization, and risk management for contract manufacturing, supporting strategic decision-making processes.

  • Evaluate and recommend strategies for co-manufacturing versus insourcing, ensuring alignment with broader commercial strategies and value engineering principles.

  • Develop and deliver high-quality, strategic presentations, using analytical insights to create compelling narratives and actionable recommendations.

  • Influence senior leadership decisions across the organization through strategic consulting and data-driven insights.

  • Create and implement strategies for transitioning products and technologies between co-manufacturing locations, aligning with divisional, regional, and corporate objectives.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing and R&D teams to drive cost-out initiatives and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), enhancing operational efficiencies and market position.

  • Partner with product development and R&D teams to embed cost-efficient manufacturing and engineering solutions early in the design process.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and performance metrics to enhance supply chain resilience and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Lead critical initiatives such as demand & capacity matching with difficulty and precision.

  • Use advanced Excel modeling techniques to build financial and operations models, conduct analyses, and support strategic decisions.

  • Engage with leaders across the organization to understand their needs and challenges, providing strategic consulting analysis to support informed decision-making.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 7 years of meaningful experience in strategic operations, business analysis, or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in consulting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • Equivalent experience will also be considered. An MBA is preferred.

  • Consistent record of providing strategic insights and recommendations.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, with exceptional skills in Excel and the ability to quickly learn and apply new analytical tools.

  • Expertise in redefining complex insights into clear, influential PowerPoint presentations.

  • Proactive and motivated leader with a strong ability to drive projects forward and handle high-visibility initiatives from conception to execution.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects with strategic and financial implications.

  • Strong critical thinking capabilities and a track record of finding innovative solutions to operational challenges.
