Description

As part of the management team, collaborates with senior divisional leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to external relations; budget and finance; human resources; and operations. Examples of projects include:

  • Annual clinical department preparation for Grady Scope of Service.

  • Development/refinement of clinical staffing models.

  • Small to large scale implementation of electronic systems (i.e., Qgenda scheduling).

  • Campus space planning and inventory management

  • Leader onboarding/development/training.

  • Campus emergency preparedness /planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends meetings with divisional executive leadership, develops and manages work plans, and ensures or facilitates appropriate follow up.

  • Drafts key communications such as articles, presentations, reports, and policies.

  • Researches strategic intent of, develops agendas for, and prepares materials or presentations for meetings.

  • Conducts complex projects requiring comprehensive research and data analysis.

  • Collaborates with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished.

  • Provides leadership to project team members and ensures integration of relevant business processes.

  • Prepares and assists in budget analyses.

  • Participates in long-range financial planning, trending, and budgeting.

  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.

  • Analyzes data and reports, identifies and summarizes trends, develops executive summaries.

  • Represents divisional executive leadership at meetings.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Primarily supports clinical operation projects and initiatives.

  • Supports senior leadership in analyzing operations focused programs and work.

  • Provides direct/indirect project management / process improvement support across clinical departments.

  • Effectively navigates data systems/programs, generating, analyzing and interpreting data for key project stakeholders.

  • Familiar with operational observation, to include cycle time studies, generating recommendations for workflow and process improvements.

  • Effectively facilitates group discussion/conversation in support of operational / workflow improvement.

  • Drafts key documentation/reports for publication to stakeholders.

  • Effectively navigates clinical operations / data / project management programs (i.e., Epic, Power BI, Tableau, Athena, Press Ganey, MS Project, MS Excel/Access, etc.).

  • May require direct supervision of administrative assistant personnel/other personnel within the Emory at Grady (EG) Deans’ Office.

  • Participate in and capture key next step actions for Sr. Leader team within the EG Deans’ Office; following up with action step planning to ensure office meeting objectives.

  • Provide direct support to Sr. Director Clinical Ops to include meeting coordination/facilitation

  • May assist with the review/development of clinical staffing models.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or other related field.

  • Five years of experience with an emphasis on project management and finance/budget analysis.

  • Expertise in use of office technology, including the MicroSoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); Internet; and e-mail . Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in health systems management or Business Administration.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Listening, organization, communication (written/verbal), presentation skills

  • Solid analytical skills.

  • At least 2 years healthcare operations experience at leadership level.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management / process improvement.

  • Program planning.

  • Education and training.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
