Momar Service Technician in Atlanta, Georgia

Momar is looking for a Service Technician!

Momar, Inc., a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Service Technician to join the Momar family. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Service Technician will provide operational, service, and maintenance support for industrial accountsincluding mines, power plants, manufacturing facilities, steel mills, and paper millsthroughout the southeastern U.S. The technician will assist the Technical Sales Manager and Sales Team with water treatment, dust control, and lubrication systems and programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily mining, power generation, and manufacturing tasks, ensuring efficient and safe practices are followed and systems maintenance is completed.
  • Operate, maintain, and service chemical spray, lubrication, and water treatment equipment by performing routine inspections and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues (e.g., malfunctions, technical problems, pump failures, spray nozzle maintenance, hose repairs) to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, clearly communicating findings and recommendations to management and customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status through service reports for each customer visit.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, and configuration of new equipment, including piping, plumbing fixtures, hoses, and pumps.
  • Assist with inventory management of mechanical parts used routinely at various job sites.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients through professionalism, work ethic, and timely responses to maintenance-related issues, striving for first-contact resolution to enhance customer retention and loyalty.
  • Communicate customer needs and preferences regarding new or existing products and programs to the Sales Manager, as well as assist with chemical inventory management.
  • Conduct routine follow-ups with customers to ensure satisfaction, address new concerns, and perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Sales Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping and reporting capabilities, and a high level of job accuracy.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Strong mechanical background with the ability to operate and maintain equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational best practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor settings with potential exposure to noise.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Able to perform job tasks in dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
