Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: 1050 Techwood Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Job Duties: Develop cloud-scale software for delivering Discoverys shows around the world. Apply expertise with distributed software development organization to lead development of cloud-based solutions for media supply chains and management of the software application lifecycle. Build multiple high-performance, stable, scalable software systems, applying knowledge of developing performant software services that operate as part of a distributed system. Lead by example in software design, coding, communication and documentation. Utilizeunderstanding of broad range of computer science concepts and dive deep into technical problems to offer solutions and suggestions for improvement. Work with key IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality product, ensuring that software development is under control and on track at all times. Distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical stakeholders. Communicate development progress through data and exhibit software development best practices in work completed. Utilize programming experience on web or mobile technologies to support development of cloud-scale software applications. Support object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. Remote WorkPermitted.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Technical Lead, Sr. Java Developer, Senior Developer, Developer, or closely related occupation. Also requires at least 4 years of experience in the following:
Programming experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, and/or Swift;
Disparate technologies, including front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems;
Large-scale software application architecture, design, implementation and performance tuning;
Modern DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring and incident management; and
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
