H ow you’ll make an impact:

The Senior Manager, Compliance is responsible for maturing the Company’s compliance programs. The Senior Manager, Compliance, must continuously assess the compliance program’s data, processes, development, and implementation through quarterly audits and reports of the compliance program’s successes and develop opportunities. The Senior Manager, Compliance, will be responsible for reviewing and developing policies, procedures, and training to ensure the Company’s awareness of and adherence to relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.

This role is based in our Buckhead office and reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel. This role may be hybrid (3-4 days onsite) as business needs and workload allow.

(40%) Compliance Program Management:

  • Provide guidance and support to all functional areas in support of their compliance obligations to include policy interpretation and development, guidance to operationalize compliance in workflows, perform risk assessments, and analyze data to assist in implementation of industry best compliance practices.

  • Manage the Company’s compliance systems and platforms to include, Ethics & Compliance Hotline and Email Boxes, Compliance Training Modules, Data Privacy, Conflict Disclosures, Third-Party Due Diligence

  • Develop and deploy ethics and compliance training, including development of annual training calendar, coordinating with training needs of other functions, managing training vendors, and monitoring completion.

(30%) Data Analysis, Compilation and Development of Mitigation Strategies :

  • Analysis, reporting and preparing executive summaries of data in our compliance programs. Data analysis will be utilized to determine root causes of gaps and opportunities to further enhance the Company’s compliance programs and leverage PowerPoint to report data to the Company’s Compliance Committee and Compliance Council, as appropriate.

  • Develop and propose strategies to mitigate risk across business functions.

  • Develop workflows to assist cross-functional partners understandings of compliance obligations and non-compliance impact/risk.

  • Ensure Company and departmental policies are reviewed and, if necessary, revised on an annual basis to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Generate monthly reports of compliance systems’ activity.

  • Prepare data and presentations for Compliance Committee and Audit Committee meetings

(15%) Compliance Communication, Outreach and Training:

  • Lead Compliance Ambassador program including company communications on the program and monthly meetings with the Compliance Ambassadors

  • Conduct in-person annual Code of Ethics training.

  • Assist business partners in executing other campaigns through compliance systems:

  • Maintain compliance page on the Company intranet ensuring content is relevant and up to date

  • Assist with annual Corporate Social Responsibility report to include verification of statements and supporting data and documentation

  • Assist with gathering responses for and completion of NGO assessments of Carter’s ESG program

  • Partner with Vendor Onboarding to assist with vendor policy attestations

(15%) Compliance Program Budget:

  • Manage the Corporate. Social Responsibility, Compliance and Legal budgets including establishing annual budget, updating budgets for actuals and forecasts, monthly budget reporting, and other requests from Finance as required

  • Manage the Company’s records management processes and vendor

  • Support and perform general legal and compliance administrative functions, as required.

Must Have

  • Advanced and proven analytical skills

  • Proven effectiveness in identifying, developing and implementing scalable/sustainable process and other continuous improvements to achieve organization efficiencies and increase effectiveness

  • Demonstrated project management skills, ability and willingness to work independently, effective time management skills, and strong attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal communications, presenting training materials and developing communications and supporting materials

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and manage dockets and deadlines.

  • Proficient with MS Suite and compliance technology platforms.

  • 5+ years of relevant corporate compliance and ethics experience or the functional equivalent including experience in the following areas: ethics and compliance program development, policy development, project management, training and awareness, program analytics/metrics, 3rd party due diligence and conflict of interest review

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Impeccable ethics. Strong understanding of relevant ethics and compliance issues, laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to make good business decisions and exercise sound judgment.

  • Proven ability as a good team player who creates a sense of collaboration.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation preferred Internal audit or similar experience preferred.
