ManpowerGroup Sanitation Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is looking to hire an experienced Sanitation Manager.

Job Title: Sanitation Manager

Overview:

The Sanitation Manager ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of all environments where products are produced, stored, and distributed. Key responsibilities include daily monitoring of plant sanitation, continuously improving sanitation programs and procedures, and verifying the completion and effectiveness of cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Management:

  • Interview, hire, and train new employees.

  • Conduct performance appraisals, reward and discipline employees, and resolve workplace issues.

  • Training and Standards:

  • Train employees on sanitation standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and departmental objectives.

  • Maintain and update SSOPs, the Master Sanitation Schedule, and department forms.

  • Procedure Development:

  • Collaborate with management to develop and validate effective sanitation procedures.

  • Plan, assign, and oversee the work of the Sanitation Supervisor, Sanitation Leads, and Sanitors.

  • Compliance and Quality:

  • Ensure all activities meet high standards of food safety and quality, comply with regulatory and customer requirements, and focus on continuous improvement.

  • Compile reports on plant sanitation inspections, violations, and corrective actions.

  • Audit Compliance:

  • Maintain audit readiness at all times and represent the Sanitation Department during regulatory, third-party, and customer audits.

  • Develop corrective action procedures and conduct employee training for audit deficiencies.

  • Budget Management:

  • Manage the Sanitation Department budget, explore cost-saving measures, and seek continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Work closely with chemical consultants to review chemical usage, operating procedures, and stay updated on new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant 4-year degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing.

  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Basic mathematical and statistical skills.
