Southern Company Regulatory Reporting Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Title: Manager, Regulatory Reporting

Please Note:

This is a hybrid work position located at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA & you will be required to work ON-SITE a minimum of three (3) days per week and/or as also required.

Relocation assistance MAY be provided if needed and if you qualify.

This position MAY require occasional availability and responsiveness to clients outside of normal business hours.

Job Description: The Project Manager will lead the preparation of reports and filings made to the Public Service Commission (PSC) including: New generation project Semi-Annual Reports, monthly reports, data requests and preparation for future filings.

Additionally, the project manager will work together with Georgia Power and Southern Company Accounting, Finance and Treasury (AFT) to coordinate activities associated with Georgia Power securing and complying with requirements resulting from DOE Loan Guarantee financings for generation, power delivery, and distributed infrastructure investments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports and supporting material for various construction monitoring reports that are requested by the Georgia PSC.

  • Prepare and provide supporting documentation for potential prudency reviews.

  • Develop Georgia PSC hearing preparation material for any upcoming proceedings.

  • Facilitate preparation of DOE Loan guarantee application components and provide ad-hoc support to Southern Company AFT during DOE Loan negotiations.

  • Prepare and coordinate DOE Loan Guarantee Agreement reporting commitments.

  • Coordinate DOE Loan Guarantee activities required for each loan advance.

  • Coordinate and review reporting in response to DOE & Independent Engineer requests.

  • Coordinate document retention requirements.

  • Prepare and support ad hoc requests from various executive stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with different levels and disciplines of Southern Company.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.

  • An undergraduate in Business or Engineering Degree is preferred.

  • State/Federal Regulatory interface experience highly preferred.

  • Past project or process management experience preferred.
