Home Depot Project Leader, Employment Marketing, Summer Internship Program in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Project Leader, Summer Internship, supports the programmatic and engagement efforts of The Home Depot's award-winning summer internship program. The Project Leader is responsible for creating and refining activities to engage with interns before, during, and after the summer program. This role will collaborate with Human Resources Partners, Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers, and other key business stakeholders to continue to provide a best-in-class internship experience that attracts top entry-level talent nationwide. A successful Project Leader will be proactive, action-oriented, detail-focused, and flexible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute programmatic elements of the summer internship program.

  • Assess, enhance, and implement engagement activities and programming related to the internship.

  • Collaborate with HR and Business Partners to ensure alignment with enterprise needs.

  • Develop creative solutions to maintain talent engagement before, during, and after the internship program.

  • Co-lead the Summer Internship Committee and oversee committee members' responsibilities.

  • Assist Functional Steering Committees.

  • Partner with the brand and creative team to identify necessary creative assets for internship programs.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to raise awareness of the internship program.

  • Lead communication with all program stakeholders, including interns, field leaders, managers, mentors, and HR partners.

  • Plan and execute a year-round communications strategy to attract field talent to existing development programs.

  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders, including HR partners, recruiters, and SSC/Field business leaders.

  • Manage and maintain the Programs Project Management Tracker.

  • Prepare recap decks and reports to summarize program accomplishments for leadership.

  • Assist the manager in gathering and analyzing feedback from all stakeholders, addressing opportunities, and reinforcing strengths.

  • Support the annual roadmap and strategic planning.

  • Identify and lead specific workstreams and opportunities that address the Program Team's focus areas.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Typically reports to a Manager, Early Career Program

  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in project management experience 

  • Experience with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, or Human Resources   

  • Previous experience in a analyst, research, and/or project leader role preferred

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
