How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Program Manager, Project Development Office will support all the Flight Operations team by driving and improving the technology development process on the business side for the Crew Digital Experience (CDE) Product, which includes the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and Flight Deck Equipage programs. As the business side liaison and advocate, they will coordinate closely with the Flight Ops Technology hardware and software teams on technology efforts in the agile ecosystem from start to finish in the Agility tool. They will also collaborate with the Ops Digital team on Portfolio Management, Road Mapping, Tracking, Reporting & Delivery at the milestone, epic, and feature levels for FOP-CDE CapEx initiatives as part of Enterprise Planning. They will be involved in the expansion of Flight Operations Change Management (FOCM), which provides awareness at the appropriate levels to track, report, assess, and manage change occurring within, or impacting, Flight Operations. Finally, they will participate in providing innovative consulting services to Flight Operations that focus on cost savings and process improvements. It is important for the successful candidate to be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect with peers and leaders. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong business acumen, organizational skills, executive level communication capabilities, be proficient in technology tools, provide alternative perspectives, and when necessary, challenge conventional wisdom. The successful candidate will embrace development and seek to develop others.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Understand the agile ecosystem, Agility tool input requirements, Enterprise Planning and DPO processes.
Identify, mature, prioritize, implement, and report on technology solutions in partnership with the EFB Hardware and Software teams as we seek provide safe, reliable, and efficient technology resources for pilots that address operational requirements and business opportunities
Lead the CDE Enterprise Planning process from the business side, having meetings across businesses and functions to include Ops Digital ensuring CDE technology efforts are aligned and executed
Partnering/aligning on feature submission, increment planning scope and increment closeout
Communicating roadmap shifts
Participating in review sessions to prep for the Ops Digital Portfolio Review (DPR)
As the business-side liaison and advocate, continually assess/diagnose opportunities to improve technology initiative processes with the Flight Ops technology teams and Ops Digital
Work directly with leaders across the division to evaluate and expand the new Flight Ops Change Management (FOCM) ecosystem to include participation in hierarchical meeting structures and the improvement of FOCM tools.
Seek out high Return on Investment (ROI) consulting opportunities throughout the Flight Ops division to implement alongside our team of highly skilled Co-Ops (usually Industrial Engineers or Management with an IT concentration)
Mentor and train others in project management skills
Serve as business mentor for Co-Op team by being an example of leadership and Delta values
Develop presentations for leadership audiences
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience in a related field
4+ years of relevant business experience required
Excellent relational, written/oral communication and presentation skills
Strong technology project management skills
Must have passion for improving processes and identifying innovative solutions
Demonstrated ability to deal with complexity and think strategically and innovatively
Excellent proven ability to organize, prioritize, manage time constraints, and manage shifting priorities
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint
High emotional quotient
Agile planning experience
Building leader-level one-pagers
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
