Federal Emergency Management Agency Program Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia
Summary This position is within the Region 4 - Mitigation Division located in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong customer service skills and ability to effectively implement program requirements, provide technical assistance, monitor program delivery, recommend improvements, and work with a team to achieve program goals. Responsibilities What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a HMA Program Analyst. Typical assignments include: Review Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) applications to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidance, and policy. Conduct technical assistance by developing and presenting materials for meetings, briefings, training workshops, and conferences. Monitor and track the status and implementation of HMA grants through site visits, status calls, performance reports, financial reports and other tools as applicable. Review subgrant revisions requests for modifications to the project budget and/or scope of work and draft approval documents for leadership review. Prepare responses to a wide variety of correspondence and issues, such as Congressional inquiries, which require research and preparation of clear and concise replies. What else do I need to know? Qualifications Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Working with agency programs and interpreting laws, regulation, policies and implementing these requirements in monitoring and technical assistance. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -or- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree -or- LL.M., if related. OR Combination of education and experience.
