Pike Corporation Materials Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
Position Summary: The Materials Specialist is responsible for the process of receiving and managing materials, components and equipment on a jobsite ensuring items are available to meet the project schedule.
Essential Functions:
Under some direct supervision:
Executes and coordinates material delivery processes to ensure the timely receipt of
materials on project sites
Work with vendors and suppliers to effectively plan and schedule the delivery of goods to
support the project
Verifies delivery and receipt of purchased items in accordance with PO’s and supports
payment approval processes
Analyze delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
Identifies delivery issues and escalates as necessary to management
Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues
Provide input into supplier reliability evaluations
Support the disposal of surplus materials as required
Comply with purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
Effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Complete and maintain accurate jobsite inventory records and files
Assembles and maintains all warranty, product manuals, operational instructions, etc.
required for turnover to clients
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in the utility industry
Direct experience in the procurement and delivery of materials and/or services
Understanding of basic concepts in materials management
High energy level with the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
Demonstrated computer skills (i.e.; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic
backgrounds

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
