Momar Maintenance Technician in Atlanta, Georgia
Momar is looking for a Maintenance Technician!
Momar, Inc., a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and building structures, as well as maintaining the plant and common areas in optimal condition.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and plant equipment (including preventive care and repairs).
- Assist with the setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems.
- Observe and follow safety procedures and SOPs established by the company and required by OSHA. Report all issues and concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Report health and safety risks to the Safety Director and Operations Manager.
- Install, align, disassemble, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators) according to layout plans, using hand and power tools.
- Operate hand and power tools as needed and authorized.
- Perform general building and grounds maintenance.
- Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Hands-on experience with installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and construction.
- Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely and efficiently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to drive to pick up parts and equipment from suppliers.
- Ability to drive a company box truck.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Valid drivers license with a safe driving history (no more than 2 moving violations in the last three years).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or related industry.
- Proficient in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks, including troubleshooting and repair.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
- Able to perform job tasks in dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and Tyvek suit.
