Description:
Position Purpose:
As a Lead Dental Assistant at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will work closely with our dental team to provide comprehensive care to underserved individuals in a clinical setting. In addition to performing dental assistant duties, you will lead and manage a team of dental assistants, ensuring smooth clinic operations, staff training, and adherence to infection control protocols.
What You Will Do:
Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for dental assistants.
Train new hires on clinical practices, sterilization procedures, and monitor ongoing compliance.
Lead staff meetings and collaborate with the Clinical Director of Dentistry.
Manage daily dental assistant schedules, including PTO, callouts, and timecards.
Perform equipment checks and ensure timely maintenance.
Provide input on staff performance, conduct reviews, and address any corrective actions needed.
Oversee infection control protocols and report incidents as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
EFDA certification from an accredited dental assisting school.
Minimum of 5 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting (public health experience preferred).
Current CPR (BLS) certification and Georgia Radiation Safety Certificate required.
