Trinity Health Lead Dental Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia

Description:

Position Purpose:

As a Lead Dental Assistant at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will work closely with our dental team to provide comprehensive care to underserved individuals in a clinical setting. In addition to performing dental assistant duties, you will lead and manage a team of dental assistants, ensuring smooth clinic operations, staff training, and adherence to infection control protocols.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for dental assistants.

  • Train new hires on clinical practices, sterilization procedures, and monitor ongoing compliance.

  • Lead staff meetings and collaborate with the Clinical Director of Dentistry.

  • Manage daily dental assistant schedules, including PTO, callouts, and timecards.

  • Perform equipment checks and ensure timely maintenance.

  • Provide input on staff performance, conduct reviews, and address any corrective actions needed.

  • Oversee infection control protocols and report incidents as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • EFDA certification from an accredited dental assisting school.

  • Minimum of 5 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting (public health experience preferred).

  • Current CPR (BLS) certification and Georgia Radiation Safety Certificate required.
