Guidehouse seeks qualified candidates as Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs) for government clients. Guidehouse continues to expand our capabilities in the areas of Training and Learning Development and is seeking candidates to meet an ever-increasing demand for work that Guidehouse has proposed and expects to win. The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) will be responsible for all facets of training products, including course design, development, virtual delivery, update and assessment. This position will include the development and delivery of high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance-learning, and in
structor-led training.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
• Conduct the design, development and evaluation of adult professional trainings.
• Develop high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance-learning and instructor-led training.
• Collaborate with SMEs, business owners, and other team members throughout the design and development process.
• Adhere to a quality assurance/compliance guide and course design templates.
• Work with technical specialists and subject matter experts to:
o Analyze needs and identify preliminary options for course design.
o Develop objectives and design specifications, such as: target audience; participant prerequisites; key learning objectives; length and configuration of training; trainer requirements; delivery methodologies (e.g., trainer-led, online); instruction techniques and material types; course completion requirements, and course structure.
o Craft course design documents and preliminary course agendas for review and revision.
o Design instructional material that reflects an understanding of Adult Learning Theory and of the diversity of learning styles and delivery methodologies.
o Structure content and activities for the intended audience(s).
o Revise and rewrite content as needed to ensure it addresses the learning needs.
• Devise performance evaluation measures for the course.
What You Will Need :
• Bachelor's degree in Education or Instructional Design, or Bachelor's degree and an Instructional Design Certification or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Instructional Systems Design
• 5+ years previous experience developing high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance-learning, and instructor-led training.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional systems design to engage adult learners through multiple modalities.
• Knowledge of developing blended-learning programs and training materials based on proven adult learning techniques (including ADDIE, Rapid Course Development, and Adult Learning Theory), using appropriate design, content, and technologies adapted to the context of actors in developing countries.
• Ability to provide guidance to internal subject matter experts and external training providers on training format, materials design, and evaluation.
• Ability to manage the concurrent development of multiple courses according to project schedules.
• Knowledge ofAdobe Captivate
• Knowledge of 508 accessibility and compliance.
What Would Be Nice To Have :
• Instructional design experience in support of CDC programs
• Familiarity with Adobe Captivate and Lectora software packages
• Proficiency with CDCTrain and OneLab REACH eLearning platforms
• Trusted 508 tester/designer
