How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
We are looking for a General Manager to be responsible for organizing programs and managing the deliverables of the In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity Team (IFEC) platform development of the Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity/Wi-Fi products (Delta Sync products), including Delta Sync Wi-Fi (DSWF) and Delta Sync Seatback (DSs). Responsibilities include developing, managing, and tracking the programs and work streams, from analysis to implementation through support transition, including, tracking, and reporting program progress, issues, budget, and scope changes to achieve successful project completion, on-time. Other requirements include developing and managing communications and expectations of a cross functional working group, sponsors, core team(s), and executive leadership while ensuring project adherence to established Delta methodologies. Will be leading Delta Sync Program Managers
Essential Responsibilities:
Program Management of complex development and implementation (of primarily Software) projects
Assist in defining program scope, goals, milestones and deliverables that support business processes in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
Lead a team of software program managers while also managing team members and deliverables in a matrix organization
Develop a coordinated plan to clearly define the project schedule, tracking and measuring performance
Daily Management and coordination of all technical and logistical aspects of a program including timelines, risks, risk mitigation strategies, action items and change requests
Work with Scrum Master(s) to track user stories and correlate data to prepare weekly/monthly reports for management/business review
Lead and coordinate the scoping, technical requirements gathering, estimating and planning for single or multiple integrated programs and/or work streams
Lead delivery of quality solutions, on time and within the planned budget
Manage an agile software development process, working with Technical leaders, Developers, Testers and Business Analysts
Documents and understands what the technical and other environmental dependencies are for each program to support an end-to-end integrated environment
Translating scope and requirements of a technical nature to wider stakeholders of all levels
Facilitate sessions with Product Managers, internal and external stakeholders to analyze business and user needs and to deliver necessary artifacts (use cases, user stories, functional requirements specifications, UI designs, mockups, workflows)
Participate in the process of documenting technical best practice and standards for production of accessible assets
Work with cross functional team(s) to develop operational processes and procedures to transition products into production.
Act as a liaison with program stakeholders on an ongoing basis
Seek to continuously question and find ways to improve team and project communication and processes
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Thorough knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools, with emphasis on software development tools and methodologies* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of related work experience in SW program/project management, OR 7+ years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide team members and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
Previous experience as a Team Lead, Software Manager, Software Program Manager, Technical Program Manager or Project Manager
Ability to set expectations, develop project plans, and manage personal workload
Proven, successful history of enterprise level implementations and integrations
Strong organization, and analytic skills.
Proven ability to manage and motivate others.
Familiarity with large scale web services and applications
Familiarity with resource constrained computing systems (i.e., embedded systems).Previous experience with cloud services and projects
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
