The Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) has the mission to deliver the world’s most capable Engineers who are adept at solving problems and creating innovative technology for the power industry. We work to solve one of the biggest climate crisis problems, to provide electricity while at the same time, reducing greenhouse gasses. The Edison program provides accelerated learning and career development by exposing the program members to industry-leading innovators in the power sector. 

As a member of the Gas Power Edison Engineering Development Program, you will be an active contributor in achieving these goals by designing, developing, analyzing, and testing our products. As part of our Leadership Programs, your two years on program will allow you opportunities to network with Executive Leaders and other members of other Leadership Programs that support functions outside of Engineering. Your experience as a Gas Power Edison will prepare you for an exciting career in the Gas Power industry and allow you to have real impact on the GE Vernova business and customers around the world.

Job Description

What you’ll do

As a GE Vernova Gas Power EEDP, you will:

  • Work on impactful, technically-challenging projects in the power generation industry during four 6-month rotations in a variety of disciplines, including Design, Analysis, Systems, Quality, Reliability, Digital, and Integration & Test

  • Enhance core engineering skills through Advanced Courses in Engineering and Business leadership training attended alongside other GE Vernova program members from other functions and locations

  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers

  • Participate in development training with other GE Vernova Leadership and Development program members from other functions and locations

  • Have the opportunity to earn credit towards an MS degree in Engineering (if entering with a BS)

  • Grow technical expertise in your chosen field and expand skills in new areas

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the Engineering majors stated below from an ABET accredited university

  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

DESIRED :

  • Passion/desire to work in the energy industry.

  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing

  • Highly motivated, self-starter, energetic, confident, flexible in changing environments

  • Strong dedication to a career in technology and a real passion for engineering

  • Ability to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving, learning agility

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms

  • Demonstrated and enthusiastic leadership and teambuilding skills

  • Strong team and interpersonal skills, ability to work in project teams in an international environment

  • Proven scholastic achievements and proactive leadership skills

Degrees: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aero Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Welding Engineering, or other Energy Engineering related majors will be considered

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Additional Notes:

  • Greenville, SC, Schenectady NY are potential locations for first rotation. Additional select locations inside the US are available for subsequent rotations of the program (Atlanta, GA and Houston, TX).

  • Relocation package is included

  • Graduation dates: December 2024 or May/June 2025
