Job Summary
Position Overview: As a District Manager (DM), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading a cross-functional team across multiple accounts within your assigned territory. This position is focused on strategic planning and the execution of initiatives to meet both operational and financial goals. Key responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, cultivating strong client relationships, and fostering a positive impact within the community.
This role involves a significant amount of travel-approximately 70%-within your designated region. The ideal candidate should reside in either Atlanta, GA, or Milwaukee, WI, to effectively manage the territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Guide and support a team of General Managers and/or Directors of Dining Services to deliver exceptional service and operational results.
Client Relationship Building: Develop positive relationships with clients, focusing on key performance metrics like profitability, safety, and employee engagement.
Strategic Contributions: Collaborate with the regional leadership team to share best practices, promote diversity, and build a sense of community.
Operational Oversight: Make strategic decisions for each account, balancing immediate needs with long-term goals and evaluating risk-reward scenarios.
Cultural Leadership: Set a positive tone throughout the district and region, working closely with teams and partners to promote understanding, accountability, and safety.
Brand Representation: Act as an ambassador for the company at client meetings and community engagement events, representing company values and goals.
Sales and Retention Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Retention, and Finance teams on proposals, sales forecasts, and retention strategies to support the district.
Problem-Solving and Partnership: Address district needs with a collaborative approach, considering the broader impacts and ensuring sustainable solutions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regional, state, and local regulations for meal and retail programs, safety, and quality assurance (QA) standards through regular audits and improvement recommendations.
Talent Development: Support team members through performance evaluations, succession planning, and skills development for single and multi-unit management.
Financial Accountability: Oversee financial performance (P&L) for the district, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
Reporting and Policy Adherence: Complete and submit required reports punctually, and enforce policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of progressive experience in multi-unit food service, hospitality management, in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership Experience: Background in contract/budget management, customer service, and people development, food services, negotiations, etc.
Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to grow a business with strong financial and strategic skills.
Analytical Thinking: Capable of quick, strategic, and precise decision-making.
Client Relations and Communication: Expertise in building client relationships, influencing, and clear communication.
Inclusive Leadership: Proactive, professional, flexible, and resilient approach, championing inclusivity.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated multitasking, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.
Industry Experience: Preferably in Business & Industry (B&I) or High-Tech sectors.
Extensive Travel Requirement: Comfortable with 70% travel within the territory.
Previous Multi-Unit Experience: Prior experience managing multiple units is essential.
Operational Experience: Skilled in budgeting, operations, safety, and quality assurance management.
