Summary

Responsible for the overall strategic direction of Information Security Architecture including the design and implementation of security controls across multiple domains and technologies. Development of Security Standards and communicating recommendations to key stakeholders to ensure the security of the organization's systems, data, and networks. Collaborating with privacy, legal, and IT professionals to ensure the security of the organization's systems and data.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership direction and subject matter expertise on all aspects of Security Architecture to key stake holders and senior executives.

  • Leads enterprise-wide architecture and engineering program to ensure that all information technology assets are secure by design and are covered by appropriate security controls.

  • Produce timely, accurate, and detailed security reports to a standard appropriate for submission to senior executives.

  • Partners with business units and stakeholders to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards for information security at IHG.

  • Responsible for building relationships across Global Technology senior leaders, business leaders and business process owners to ensure a level of understanding and confidence in IHG security practices.

  • Creates, monitors, and enforces consistent security standards for security products (i.e. intrusion detection systems, cyber security, firewalls, vulnerability assessment systems, penetration testing, secure email system, access control & identity management systems, network security, etc.) and IT solutions.

  • Direct and oversee the development and deployment of significant and highly complex projects to ensure solutions are developed in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules, and budgets.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with client management and develop a strong working knowledge of client business functions and objectives. Develop competency and understanding of the client’s business and strategic direction to ensure accurate translation of client requirements into technical specifications.

  • Define ways to use technology to reduce costs and improve productivity to include implementation of new software, new modules, application upgrades, customizations, enhancements, re-engineering of systems and business process engineering.

  • Direct, monitor and mentor on methodology, tools, templates, standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Plan, organize and lead functions within established schedules, budgetary and resource plans; establish goals, performance standards and operating procedures for assigned functions. Participate in creation of department staffing and capital budgets.

  • Coach and develop team members; interview, hire, train employees, plan and assign work, manage performance, and address concerns and resolve matters.

  • Act as an advisor to managers and team members to help meet established schedules and/or resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Directs the identification, definition and analysis of complex problems and provides solutions.

  • Directs and assigns development resources to projects and manage resource demand workload within development team.

  • Lead all aspects of vendor management including selection, negotiation, dispute resolution, and long-term relationship management.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

Bachelor’s degree with progressive work experience in Computer Science/MIS/IT, Business Administration or Engineering or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

  • 10+ years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies or processes related to the position, as well as 5+ years of demonstrated experience establishing organizational structure and allocation of duties through management of subordinate teams.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Protective Security and its implementation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the key principles of Information Security Engineering, Risk Management & Security Risk Management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Crisis Management & Business Continuity.

  • Ability to collect, analyze and assess information to draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Detailed understanding of regional political, economic, crime and security risks.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the place of security in the wider business and its central role in Protecting and Championing the Trusted Brand of IHG

  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to learn quickly and thoroughly in rapidly changing conditions.

  • Demonstrated ability to think laterally and under pressure.

  • Demonstrated capability to influence and persuade and to work across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading and developing multi-disciplined work teams.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to take highly technical information and present to all levels of management, technical staffs, and business/professional contacts.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in executive presentation and escalation management.

  • Strong leadership by influence, adaptability to multiple styles of management and decision authority.

  • Create white papers that clearly state the advantages and ROI for new technology investments.

  • The ability to proactively identify problems and recommend solutions - strong process improvement capabilities.

  • The ability to accept and manage changing priorities and address issues quickly and professionally.

  • Strong customer-service orientation and a commitment to lead others to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.

  • Change Agent capable of motivating and inspiring a team.

  • Analytical abilities, result-focused, action oriented, and ability to work effectively with customers and IT Leaders.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $225,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
