C.H. Robinson Customs Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Customs Supervisor to lead a team in achieving operational excellence. In this role, you will organize, plan, coordinate, and control team operations related to customs business, ensuring timely and accurate filing of entries with Customs and Border Protection and Partner Government Agencies. You will also focus on developing team members, monitoring performance, and supporting the day-to-day needs of our customers through superior operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop a team atmosphere focused on customer service and performance

  • Select, train, and assign staff within specialized teams

  • Monitor team activity, balance workloads, and improve processes

  • Resolve issues to prevent cargo delays and customer loss

  • Collaborate with leadership to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency

  • Manage team profit and loss (P&L) and maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education

  • Plan and supervise operations to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations

  • Support customs functions including classification, entry filing, and shipment release

  • Act as the final escalation point for customer issues and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures

  • Foster strong relationships with carriers and clients, driving customer satisfaction

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 5-7 years of customs brokerage experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 1-2 years of people leadership experience

  • CCS Certified

  • Direct or indirect supervisory, management or leadership experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence others, set a positive example, and create a productive, positive environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strategic and creative thinking skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills
