Insight Global Cost Estimator in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description

Examines blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. Performs

accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.

Leads the development of conceptual and feasibility cost model estimates utilizing historic

benchmarking information and industry experience to develop complete early-stage cost

estimate forecasting.

Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers,

etc. to utilize in estimates.

Inputs estimate takeoff information for specific disciplines and develops unit cost pricing.

Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during

preparation of estimate.

Reviews and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and

specific project logistics.

Reviews historic benchmark cost information and highlights variances.

Assists senior management in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve

accuracy and efficiency of tasks.

Maintains and updates a data library of costs in WinEst.

Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost

drivers.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, plus five years of

relevant experience.

Must have experience in estimating for energy and utilities industry.

Must have intermediate working knowledge in WinEst and working knowledge of electronic

takeoff including CAD Measure null
