Southern Company Content Strategist, Brand (Hybrid) in Atlanta, Georgia

CONTENT STRATEGIST, BRAND

Please Note: This is a hybrid position and you will be required to work IN THE OFFICE a minimum of three (3) days per week and/or as required @ 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA.

Some travel across Georgia is also required (Both Daily & Overnight.)

Job Summary:

The Brand Content Strategist will join a team of dedicated and diverse brand strategists who are passionate about creating impactful experiences for our customers and each other. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating compelling content that resonates with a variety of audiences, with a particular emphasis on SEO-driven writing. Additionally, experience in social media and multimedia content creation, including design and video production, is highly desirable.

Job Qualifications:

Four-year degree preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or related field

** At least 4 years of experience in content marketing or a related role, with a proven track record of success.

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Strong understanding of SEO principles and content optimization.

Experience with social media management and strategy.

Proficiency in content management systems and SEO tools.

Ability to create multimedia content, including basic design and video editing skills (proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro, etc.).

Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical abilities and comfort with data-informed decision-making.

Ability to effectively collaborate with agencies and cross-functional teams

Expertise in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook are required

Knowledge of the electric utility industry is a plus.

Principle Job Responsibilities:

In this role, the Brand Content Strategist will:

Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company's brand, objectives, and target audiences.

Craft compelling narratives that effectively communicate potentially complex concepts to a non-technical audience, enhancing customer engagement and brand loyalty.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure storytelling and content creation are integrated into broader communications campaigns and strategic initiatives.

Organize and facilitate brainstorming sessions with stakeholders to generate fresh, creative content ideas that align with our brand's voice and objectives.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive project management process for content creation, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure all content is high-quality and produced on schedule.

Manage content calendars and ensure timely publication of material.

Create high-quality, SEO-optimized content for a variety of platforms, including our website, blog, email campaigns, and social media channels.

Perform keyword research and use SEO best practices to increase traffic and engagement.

Analyze content metrics and make adjustments as needed.

Monitor industry trends and make recommendations for content strategy adjustments.

Produce multimedia content, such as graphics, videos, and infographics, to enhance digital storytelling.

Edit, proofread, and improve content from other team members or external contributors.

Coordinate with external agencies or freelancers as needed for content creation.

Ensure compliance with the law e.g., copyright and data protection.
