Emory University's Division of Campus Life is seeking a part-time (15-25 hours/week)Assistant Program Coordinator to assist and support K-12 engagement.

Emory's Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) supports members of the Emory community to develop and apply their skills to foster a kinder and more socially just world. We offer established programs that are vital to the communities around us--programs that help members of the Emory community channel their passion for social justice, education, health care, and more into purposeful impact in the metro Atlanta community and beyond. The work of the CCE helps operationalize and fulfill the University's mission to create, preserve, teach, and apply knowledge in the service of humanity. As participants learn and grow, they find they can be catalysts for change and can better serve their community.

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, understanding of project management, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic.

  • The ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy is a must, as is the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and K-12 partners.

  • The Assistant Program Coordinator will play a critical role in handling communications, managing projects, and working with several departments and individuals across the University and in the community.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of program initiatives which may include the preparation of briefing materials, reports, correspondence and other documents, performing research, developing and maintaining databases, and developing promotional materials.

  • Communicates with national and possibly international program contacts.

  • Tracks program expenditures, and may participate in the budget preparation process.

  • May draft, edit and process grant proposals.

  • Prepares and distributes reports.

  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for meetings, conferences, and travel.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

The K-12 Assistant Program Coordinator will be involved in administering and working with stakeholders to oversee a range of tasks including but not limited to the following:

  • Provides administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within K-12 engagement area.

  • Serve as the project coordinator to move forward strategic projects identified by CCE Leadership and grant PI’s as it relates to the Provost Social Justice Grant partnership with the School of Medicine.

  • Participate and/or contribute to meetings related to the role and scope of work.

  • Assist in developing and executing educational and celebratory events for stakeholders.

  • Support connections with the student body through outreach to targeted student groups, the sharing of ways students can get involved.

  • Create or supervise the creation of timely content for communication tools/platforms: website, newsletter, social media, and reports.

  • Writes routine reports and correspondence and assists with the development of project/program materials.

  • Publicize other K-12 and related lectures and events at Emory and in the community that will enhance the knowledge and capacity of the students participating.

  • Promote and use Emory OPEN to recruit and document programs and events.

  • Assist in curriculum development and distribution.

  • Assist with conducting research and providing support to one or more staff members regarding project and programmatic efforts.

  • Supervise, as needed, volunteers and undergraduate/graduate student interns.

  • Works with and maintains data management and filing for projects/program.

  • Archive historical materials and maintain organized documentation of programming, participants, and media coverage.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
