Position Summary
Morehouse Healthcare has an immediate need for an Accounts Payable Accountant. This is a full-time hybrid role that will manage the accounts payable process. While the position is based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, remote work flexibility is available.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accounts Payable
Records and verifies all invoices for Morehouse Healthcare Inc. is coding correctly in the system.
Pay invoices in a timely manner.
Validates there is sufficient funding in the appropriate prior to the actual purchase.
Manage the aging report
Reconciles to the general ledger liability accounts
Creates month end journal entry
Print and mail checks
Maintain sufficient documentation for checks
Files the documentation for the invoices and/or upload documentation in the appropriate system
Communicates with vendors and departments
Setup new accounts and obtains appropriate documentation
Sends vendors the appropriate tax documents at year end
Prepares month end journal entries
Reconciles vendor statements Reviews and verifies source documents used in the accounting process.
Maintains and controls assigned accounts.
Processes accounts payable transactions in accordance with the Institution’s prescribed policies and procedures.
Analyzes accounts payable transactions; and prepares reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, preferably in accounting. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience.
Finance and Accounting skills
Account Reconciliation expertise
Experience in Invoice Processing and Invoicing
Managing Multiple Locations and Departments
Proficiency in Excel, financial software, and systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare experience.

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption.
