The role of Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) is to support this mission by providing strategic insights by first understanding business processes and then leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous improvement efforts.
The Analytics Specialist will be asked to work closely with leaders to develop creative solutions to current challenges. We are looking for data curious individuals who seek to understand process and can connect with our business partners to leverage data and drive improvement.
We are looking for data curious candidates who enjoy thoughtful debates about how strategy, business process improvement, and analytics impact the way Delta reliably serves its customers. Additionally, they will exhibit strategic vision, strong analytical/process skills, a bias for action, and the ability to partner with senior operational leaders to influence strategy, improve the Delta customer experience, improve operational reliability, and drive results.
Responsibilities:
Locateand extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models, andproject development
Aggregateviews of data sources into meaningful hierarchies
Createaccountability tools such as scorecards and performance reviews that focus onKPIs that drive the business
Developand improve automated reports and analyses to support senior divisional leadersand business units
Createinsightful executive-level and frontline dashboards using data visualizationtools
Understanddrivers of the KPIs through various analyses and work closely with the businessteam to create solutions
Presentfindings to business leadership
Practicesafety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
3+years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, orother relevant quantitative field preferred
Successfulcandidates will have familiarity and/or experience with some or all of thefollowing: SQL, SAS, R, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Spotfire or other databaseinterface tools and languages
Trackrecord of seeking leadership roles including student and communityorganizations
Directexperience communicating with stakeholders, delivering projects end-to-end, andworking collaboratively to drive improvement in the overall analytical supportof Delta operations worldwide
Mustbe comfortable working in group and individual settings.
VisualBasic, Perl, Python, UNIX or other basic functional programming tools
Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embracesdiverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possessesa high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Isat least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Bachelor’sdegree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science,Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, or other relevantquantitative field
