Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Investigates, evaluates, and settles casualty matters brought against Norfolk Southern for incidents involving property damage, personal injury, or death arising from company operations.
Principal Duties:
Investigates and preserves relevant facts concerning claims against or by Norfolk Southern for death or injury to persons, or damage to property, arising out of company activities within assigned territory.
Evaluates, controls, and negotiates fair and reasonable settlements of claims and lawsuits as may be assigned to incumbent.
Assists trial counsel in defending the Company's interests in the event of litigation.
Outdoor/Field work consisting of physical tasks including but not limited to mounting/dismounting equipment and walking long distances on uneven surfaces.
Job Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 1-3 years
Preferred Level: 2-5 years with relevant field operations or claims experience
