Description

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in the transport industry in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, the individual will oversee and streamline accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.

• Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end close processes.

• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.

• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate and timely financial reports.

• Establish and enforce financial procedures in line with organizational objectives.

• Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls.

• Oversee the regulatory reporting of financial statements, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Develop and implement best practices for accounting processes to improve efficiency.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in 'Month End Close' procedures and accounting best practices

• Strong knowledge of accounting laws, regulations, and standards

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
