PagerDuty is looking for a highly motivated and technically savvy GL Accountant to join our team. We are looking for someone who can collaborate and communicate cross-functionally, who is detail-oriented and possesses strong interpersonal communication skills as you'll be interacting with a variety of stakeholders, both within and outside of PagerDuty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage specific areas of our month end close cycle, including preparation, review and posting of general journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly analytics

  • Own specific close processes and related SOX controls to achieve a high-speed SOX-compliant close through best in class practices

  • As part of a global team, across multiple time zones, serve as a backup for accounting of other functional areas

  • Support business stakeholders within Sales and Marketing, Engineering and certain G&A areas from the accounting perspective

  • As part of Accounting organization, create, implement and maintain scalable processes, policies and controls within the team and cross-functionally

  • Support external and internal audits with data requests/questions and succesfully collaborate across other teams

  • Assist with projects as they arise - including system implementations and integrations, including but not limited to defining requirements, testing, roll-out and training

  • Develop and maintain desktop procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience in a SOX environment

  • Experience with US GAAP

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated experience working across time zones and with team members residing in various geographic locations

  • Understanding of SOX environment, and controls and compliance requirements that come with it

  • ERP system experience and strong curiosity to maximize existing tools and identify automation opportunities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting experience at a multinational SaaS company preferred, but not required

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • Project management and team management experience is highly desired

  • Able to wear multiple hats and adjust priorities as the business evolves.

  • Strong drive and great work ethic. Get it done attitude.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities

  • Collaborative communication style, and ability to work cross-functionally with people at different organizational levels with a wide variety of backgrounds

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with NetSuite

The base salary range for this position is 84,000 - 130,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
