As part of the continued growth of ERMs utility/power business and our position as a market leader in the energy transition, ERM is seeking an experienced leader to join our thriving global consulting firm as an Account Director for one of our largest east-coast utility clients. This is a Partner-level opportunity with an equity stake for a Principal/Director/VP-level professional to further your career by joining our national Power Industry Commercial Leadership Team in a highly visible, business-critical and dynamic leadership role with significant growth potential. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with East Coast utilities, technical expertise, and experience leading multi-disciplinary routing, siting, permitting, site remediation, EHS compliance, renewable generation, and electric/transmission capital projects. ERMs provides a unique platform that blends business and environmental solutions to address a broad range of our clients needs including corporate advisory (e.g., de-carbonization, supply chain, sustainability, ESG), Environment Health and Safety (EHS), and Capital Project Delivery (CPD). This Account Director role involves commercial leadership with teams across numerous disciplines to help our utility client build and operate their energy infrastructure while maintaining compliance with EHS and ESG goals and regulations, all while achieving their stated business objectives. ROLE PROFILE As an Account Director, you will be accountable for successfully selling and consulting across all ERMs offerings to build on an established business in Virginia and the mid-Atlantic. You will need to network with ERM's regional and global technical communities to share market intelligence and best practices. We are looking for an established leader who combines strong consulting and business development skills with a solid technical foundation, and a track record of leading high performing teams to sell and deliver world-class services and outcomes. The focus areas for this this role will be to: Advance our reputation for developing challenging and complex capital projects. Execute ERMs strategy of understanding clients businesses and delivering client value. Lead and manage project execution activities in support of ERM clients power projects. Foster and expand client relationships with utility clients aligned with our growth strategy. Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service. Maintain a working knowledge of industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts to high potential, top opportunities. Actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant growth with ERMs target power clients. Demonstrate strong understanding of client needs and raise ERMs profile with a Key Client. Drive innovation to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market. Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor. Identify emerging talent and help them reach their full potential through new areas of responsi ility. Lead large, diverse team through fast paced projects across multiple disciplines. Meet business health and safety standards, financial targets, project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction, risk management, and contract requirements. Engage with senior client stakeholders and regulatorys, leveraging your knowledge, reputation and desire for quality delivery of positive outcomes for our clients. We prefer a candidate in Richmond, VA, and will consider candidates in surrounding areas. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS/MS in environmental science, engineering, or related field. 15 years experience in consulting or working in the Power/Utility Sector, including traditional or renewable generation, transmission, and distribution markets. Recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace. Solid understanding of the utility industry and relationships to leverage into new business. Demonstrated understanding of the utility regulatory environment, regulatory agencies, and current and emerging issues. Business acumen to understand business risks and challenges, and to recognize opportunities to provide enterprise-wide solutions for clients. Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million-dollar sales/programs.
