Machinist III Athol, MA Full Time Operations Experienced Job Summary: Assists with the installation, setup, programming, operation, inspection, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to follow all safety and standard work requirements. Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Creates machining processes Understands most machining applications. Creates and or modifies programs Completes parts from start to finish with little to no direction Ability to modify existing parts / tools to meet immediate demand Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Ability to assist in creation and improvement of standard work processes Qualifications: Performs work under little supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses beginning to completion working knowledge of subject matter. Mathematical skills. Advanced technical expertise. Manual dexterity. Physical Stamina. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Education Requirements: Minimum High School Diploma or GED Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years experience. Machinist III requires ability to efficiently setup / operate multiple types of equipment. Can create a part from start to finish.
