Mayfield Dairy Farms has an opening for a Production Planning Manager , in Athens, TN.

Develop production schedule to meet customer requirements while optimizing capacity. Maintain detailed demand forecasts for products. Manage finished inventory levels to assure the plant meets customer service level expectations for finished product inventory. Manage raw material inventory levels and orders ingredients and packaging to support the master production schedule requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain detailed demand forecast by using sales history, promotional data, and other pertinent information that may be available via resources. Establish and/or maintain the master production schedule to minimize customer order shortages and maximize the efficient use of plant resources and capacity

• Direct the overall planning of the manufacturing facility to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled and produced at the lowest possible cost to meet the customer’s requirements requirements while maintaining established safety and quality standards.

• Plan and execute, for assigned product groups at plant, the production schedule focused on execution

timeframe. Manage schedule to adhere to sequence to produce products in order to stay in alignment with the allergen, certification, color matrix to assure food safety while delivering on customer requirements.

• Work with internal customers to coordinate schedules and establish priorities when required to prevent customer service issues.

• Ensure schedule optimizes available production capacity while maintaining targeted stock levels

• Identify and communicate product issues and concerns that may affect customer orders

• Cooperate in cross functional manner with all departments within the company

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate degree in business or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and

education)

• 5 to 8 years of production planning, or related experience

• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems

• Knowledge and understanding of planning and production methodologies

• Strong understanding of plant processes in relation to production processes for each line

• Able to manage multiple projects and participate in cross-functional environment

• Able to communicate with various levels of personnel to ensure customers’ needs and requirements are met

• Skill in analytical thinking

• Able to identify problems, take appropriate steps to find solutions, and implement solutions

• Must be able to read, write and speak English
