Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Molecular Parasitology Intern to join our department located at our Athens, GA facility. As an Intern, you will:
Work closely with scientists and project teams to prioritize assay development that provides solutions for ongoing projects
You will play a hands-on role in driving drug discovery efforts by employing molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to interrogate parasite biology.
Throughout the course of your work, you will have exposure to multiple functions within Research and Development in animal health.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop molecular, cellular and biochemical assays to interrogate parasite biology
Participate in research team meetings to present and evaluate data
Work closely with scientists and project teams to prioritize assay development that provides solutions for ongoing projects
Contribute intellectual input into innovative drug discovery efforts for veterinary parasite
Requirements
Must be an advanced degree student in good academic standing
Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
Major or minor in related field of internship
Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
Experience with basic molecular biology laboratory skills
Willing to work with ectoparasites and/or insects
